The best and the rest from the Nittany JUDGMENT P LAYER OF THE GAME Matt McGloin completed two touchdowns, in- cluding the 40th of his career, and topped Kerry Collins for the fifth-most touchdowns in a PSU ca- reer. He finished with 321 yards and no interceptions on 22 of 36 passing. PLAY OF THE GAME When Jesse James barreled into the end zone on Penn State's first possession of the third quarter, giving it a 27-3 lead, Pur- due's already-sparse crowd at Ross- Ade Stadium began to thin out even more. BEST RUN On first-and-goal from the 5-yard line, Michael Zordich pulled a handoff left, shimmied, broke a few tackles and leaped into the end zone for his second touchdown of the af- ternoon. BEST PASS McGloin's play-action pass to wideout Brandon Moseby-Felder was a beauty, picking up 42 yards on the play and setting up Zordich's 6-yard touchdown run on the next play from scrimmage. WORST DROP Jake Fagnano made a great play to jump in front of a third-and-goal pass, but the ball slipped through his hands, setting up the Boilers' field goal to take an early 3-0 lead. BEST SACK Sean Stanley seemingly had a magnetic force bringing him COACHSPEAK CHECK THE FILM Bill O'Brien said he didn't see assistant coach Charlie Fisher's sideline outburst in the fourth quarter. This time he finished with two passing touchdowns, which gives him the fifth-most career touch- downs in Penn State history. Steve Manuel quarter, Stephen Obeng-Agyapong sniffed it out quickly, grabbing the receiver's jersey and slamming him to the turf for a 3-yard loss. BEST EFFORT Obeng-Agyapong's third down shoe-string tackle on Bush early in the second quarter saved PSU from what appeared to be a cer- tain first down, and possibly more. WORST CALL A roughing the passer call on Adrian Amos in the first quarter was simply absurd. The hit on Marve was clean, to his chest, led with shoulder, and was made a split-sec- ond after Marve released the ball. MOST TELLING MOMENT Michael Mauti dropped to his knee, away from fallen teammate Jordan Hill, who trainers tended to early in the sec- ond quarter after rolling over his left knee. Post game reports suggested he had no torn ligaments. – NATE BAUER Lions' win in West Lafayette CALLS
