POSTGAME REPORT WEEK 10 NEBRASKA 32, PENN STATE 23 THE GAME AT A GLANCE RED SWARM Nebraska's de- fense forced two turnovers in- side its 10-yard line. "They will kill you," Bill O'Brien said. Victory slips away from Penn State amid fourth-quarter controversy HUSKED IN LINCOLN MATT HERB | M A T T@B L U E WH I T E O N L I N E . c O M LINCOLN, Neb. – It shouldn't have come down to this. Everyone acknowledged that fact after Penn State's 32-23 loss to Nebraska. It shouldn't have come down to a judgment call on the road in front of 85,000 fans who would likely have erupted in outrage had things not gone the way of the home team. Suffice it to say, his honest appraisal was pretty harsh. "We're not going to get that call here," the senior quarterback said. "We're not going to get that call ever, actually, against any team. It doesn't matter who the refs are. We'll never get that call." McGloin stopped short of saying that Penn State has been getting shortchanged by offi- cials this season because of widespread public outrage over the Sandusky scandal. When asked if he was saying what everyone in the N O V E M B E R 1 0 , 2 0 1 2 1 B L U E W H I T E O N L I N E . c O M Steve Manuel GOOD NEWS Penn State was as aggres- sive as ever on of- fense, despite the challenging weather conditions and the deafening Corn- husker crowd. BAD NEWS The turnovers, obvi- ously. Also, Penn State didn't match Nebraska's intensity coming out of the locker room at half- time – an echo of the Ohio State loss. THE TAKEAWAY Too many field goals. Too many turnovers. Too many missed oppor- tunities. This was a winnable game, but the Lions weren't sharp enough to seize control.
