Desmond Howard in 2010 was the last U-M player to be selected, while former coach Lloyd Carr was added the following year. 4th Overall was where U-M forward Francis Atuahene, who just completed his junior season, was cho- sen by FC Dallas in the 2018 Major League Soccer SuperDraft Jan. 19. The two-time team MVP is the program's third first-round SuperDraft selec- tion and the highest ever, surpassing No. 5 Peri Marosevic in 2009. 4 Former Michigan players will take part in Super Bowl LII, held Feb. 4 in Minneapolis. The New Eng- land Patriots have veterans quarterback Tom Brady, de- fensive tackle Alan Branch and linebacker David Harris, while the Maize and Blue is represented on the Philadel- phia Eagles by defensive end Brandon Graham. 15 Times fifth-year senior Erin Finn has been named a Big Ten Athlete of the Week (in- cluding indoor and outdoor track, plus cross countr y), which is more than any other runner in league history. The nine-time All-American made her season debut at the Wolverine Invitational — the first event held at the new U-M Indoor Track Building — in the mile with a time of 4:40.17, which is the best in the nation by a college runner so far this year and earned her the latest honor. She finished fourth in the race, which included professional runners. 2,505 Career points have been scored by senior guard Kate- lynn Flaherty through the first 21 games of this season, which stands as the most ever by a Michigan basketball player, male or female. She surpassed Glen Rice's old mark of 2,442 with 26 points in a 69-64 win over Nebraska Jan. 13, and then was recognized alongside Rice at the men's game against Rutgers Jan. 21. Flaherty passed Diane Dietz's women's record of 2,076 points earlier this year, and she is just the seventh female in Big Ten history to surpass 2,500. 4,577 Passing yards for U-M alum Tom Brady this season, which ranked first in the NFL and made the 40-year-old the oldest player to ever lead the league in that category, surpassing a 38-year-old Fran Tarkenton in 1978. Brady and his Patriots extended their league record with a seventh straight AFC Championship Game appearance this year, while he is on his way to his eighth overall Super Bowl — which is two more than any other player in NFL history. He has been his team's primary starting quarterback in 16 seasons, reaching the Confer- ence Championship 12 times and making Super Sunday in half of those seasons. 8,313 Fans showed up for the Michigan wom- en's basketball game against No. 10 Ohio State Jan. 7, an overtime loss for the Wolverines. It was the second- largest crowd at Crisler Center in program history, and the Wol- verines got revenge on their rivals nine days later with an 84-75 win over the nation's eighth-ranked squad for the program's fifth top-10 win ever and just the sec- ond on the road. 18,738 Is the number of Michigan athletics donors in the state of Michigan, ac- cording to a graphic tweeted by the athletic department.
