PENN STATE The Nittany Lions lead the series, 4-0. (11 Penn State victories have been vacated.) PREVIOUS MEETING Penn State struggled inside the 20-yard line, but Matt Mc- Gloin's 74-yard touchdown pass to Derek Moye in the third quarter lifted the Lions to a 16-10 triumph on Oct. 1, 2011, in Bloomington. THE GOOD A YEAR'S DIFFERENCE The Hoosiers, who sport the Big Ten's best passing offense, have scored more points (312) this season than they scored all of last seaston (257). Steve Manuel THE BAD PUSHED OVER Opponents convert 41.4 percent of their third-down attempts against Indiana, and the Hoosiers allow a league-worst 24.1 first downs per game. THE UGLY OPEN HOLES Allowing 244 rushing yards and 2.4 rushing touchdowns per game, Indi- ana has the worst rush defense in the Big Ten and the third-worst among all FBS pro- grams. DID YOU KNOW? Indiana defensive end Javon Cornley's brother is former Penn State basketball standout Jamelle Cornely, who played for- ward for the Nittany Lions from 2006-09. Jamelle is the program's fourth all-time rebounder (755) and fifth all-time scorer (1,579), and he helped lead the Lions to the NIT championship in 2009. MAN COVERAGE Pass-heavy Indiana could rely on running back Stephen Houston, who is also a scoring threat. C O M If you're going by the NCAA's book, only four times has Penn State defeated Indi- ana. And even though this is the 16th meeting between the teams since 1993, In- diana has never defeated Penn State. Funny how things work. In reality, the Nittany Lions have defeated the Hoosiers in each of the previous 15 matchups, the most recent being a head- scratching 16-10 road victory last year. But N O V E M B E R 1 4 , 2 0 1 2 1 when the NCAA decided to vacate 14 years' worth of victories this summer, Penn State's dominance over Indiana was va- cated, too. At least as far as the record books are concerned. This season, in the NCAA's eyes, the victories are real again, and the Nittany Lions are out to continue their supremacy against Indiana on Saturday.
