✦ TOP STORYLINES: NOTRE DAME VS. WFU but in his final game at Notre Dame Sta- dium, Te'o and his cohorts will face a Wake Forest offense that is ranked 106th in scoring offense (20.1 points allowed per game), 104th in passing efficiency (113.8 rating), 111th in rushing offense (102.7 yards allowed per game), and 111th in total offense (309.7 yards allowed per game) among 120 Football Bowl Subdivi- sion teams. "He's a unique player," Notre Dame head coach Brian Kelly said of Te'o, one of 29 seniors on the team. ENDING ANOTHER STREAK This has been a year in Notre Dame football history that has seen the ending to a number of nagging streaks: • On Sept. 15, Notre Dame put a halt to its school-record nine-game losing streak to top-10 ranked teams with a 20-3 victory at No. 10 Michigan State. • On Sept. 22 and Oct. 6, victories ver- Bulls stunned Notre Dame 23-20 in the season opener. • In 2010, Conference USA member Tulsa pulled off a 28-27 upset to drop the Irish to 4-5 under first-year head coach Brian Kelly. • In 2009, in what would prove to be fifth-year head coach Charlie Weis' fi- nale at Notre Dame, Connecticut rallied from a 14-0 deficit to emerge with a 33-30 double-overtime victory on Senior Day. In all, a dozen programs have won in sus Michigan and Stanford, respectively, snapped three-game losing streaks to each, and prevented the Notre Dame class of 2013 from becoming the first to graduate with an 0-4 record against the Wolverines and Cardinal. • The 29-26 triple-overtime victory their initial game at Notre Dame Sta- dium, which opened in 1930. It also provided it an excellent chance to become the first Irish team since 1993 not to lose a mini- mum of three games during the season. Now against Wake Forest, the Irish will attempt to record their first perfect record at home since 1998, when they did it un- der second-year head coach Bob Davie. The 13-year drought at home from 1999-2011 easily eclipsed the previous school record of eight consecutive sea- sons from 1956-63, prior to first-year head coach Ara Parseghian's "Resurrection" campaign in 1964.
