RECRUITING FROM PREVIOUS PAGE that have shown interest include Ala- bama, Michigan, Nebraska, North Car- olina, Ohio State, Oklahoma and Vir- ginia Tech. QUOTABLE Reeder: "I knew about [the White Out experience], but it was pretty crazy to be up there and on the field watching the stands fill up. It was loud and crazy. It's a fun place to play." RYAN'S TAKE Reeder is a prospect I really like. His father has said he has a strong interest in Penn State and its linebacker tradition. He wants to stay close to home and has put a high pri- ority on academics –factors that will work in Penn State's favor. Reeder is also a great athlete. He is currently committed to North Carolina to play lacrosse, but he will most likely end up playing football somewhere else. Look for him to be a four-star prospect on Rivals.com, although as of now, it looks as if he'll be right outside of the top 250. OMAR TRUIT Ath.|5-10|180| Washington, D.C.|St. John's College High SCHOOLS OF INTEREST Truit has verbal scholarship offers from Richmond and Syracuse. Other schools that have shown interest include Alabama, Auburn, Maryland, Tennessee, Virginia and Virginia Tech. QUOTABLE Truit: "I loved the atmos- phere, it was crazy. Everybody was into it, the people really love their school. I talked with Coach Johnson and Coach Butler. They are telling me they are closer to offering. I'm def- initely ready for Penn State. The loss doesn't impact my thoughts because Penn State was still playing their butts off, they never gave up. I thought it was a good game." RYAN'S TAKE Truit has stated that Penn State's offer is the one he wants most. After watching his film from midseason, I think he'll get what he's looking for. He may not get it until spring, but I do expect Truit to be a member of the Class of 2014. He is likely to receive three stars when Rivals.com releases its rankings in February. RB Anderson to attend father's alma mater month, and its echoes are being felt on the recruiting trail. After visiting Penn State for the game, running back Richy Anderson of Thomas John- son High in Frederick, Md., verbally committed to Bill O'Brien and his staff. The son of former Nittany Lion tail- T back Richie Anderson, the 5-foot-11, 180-pound three-star prospect took an official visit to Penn State the weekend of the Ohio State game and was dazzled by the atmosphere in Beaver Stadium. "I won't lie, I almost had tears at one point just imagining what it would be like to be out there," Anderson said. "To be part of something like that, I honestly can't describe it. I took a bunch of pictures of everything and I was looking at it all as I was driving home, just thinking about more than just the environment, more than just football, but the entire town, he White Out crowd made a lot of noise at the Ohio State game last the school and what it means to be part of this team right now. "It's just a different environment up there. Anyone who knows Penn State knows that it's about more than just football. It really is, and you can tell that. When they got down [against Ohio State], no one left. Everyone supported the team. So I just love it up there." Before his commitment to Penn State, Anderson was verbally com- mitted to Maryland. He chose the Terrapins in June but began to re- consider his options after the Nittany Lions offered a scholarship in late August. He becomes the 12th verbally com- mitted prospect in Penn State's Class of 2013 and the first running back recruit since Akeel Lynch joined last year's class. Anderson plans to enroll in January, joining defensive back Jordan Smith of Washington, D.C., and tight end Adam Breneman of Camp Hill, Pa. –R.S.
