It'll be an arena. It'll be a hockey
rink. It'll be a cafe. It'll be a commu- nity center. It'll be state of the art. Whatever you want to call it, or what- ever you plan on using it for, the Peg- ula Ice Arena is on pace to be com- pleted by Sept. 5, 2013. In fact, Steve Laurila, senior project manager for Mortenson Construction, said work on the arena "might be just a little bit ahead of schedule," and
should certainly be finished before the inaugural Big Ten ice hockey sea- son next year. While Penn State's new men's and
women's ice hockey teams will be the primary tenants of the new arena, which sits across from the Bryce Jor- dan Center on University Drive, school officials are already working to schedule nonhockey events. Joe Battista, Penn State's associate
