62 ■ THE WOLFPACKER BY JACEY ZEMBAL N C State returns three key players from a squad that finished ranked No. 20 in the country by Golf- week and placed seventh at the NCAA Regional in Albuquerque, N.M. Juniors Laura Kowohl, India Clyburn and Naomi Ko all return, along with senior Cecily Overbey and redshirt junior Crystal Huang. Gardner-Webb sophomore transfer Wassawan "Mim" Sangkapong, freshman Monika Hartl and sophomore Christina Lu will push the returnees for veteran head coach Page Marsh. The Wolfpack also hopes to improve upon last year's sixth- place showing at the ACC Championships. "We are a little deeper this spring," Marsh said. "We are a little more experi- enced and older. The majority of our team now is upperclassmen. "We have a pretty solid team and they are hungry. They really recognize what has been achieved here by past groups and want to be a part of that culture here." Kowohl led the Pack in four of the first five tournaments this season, highlighted by placing second in the Ocean Course Invita- tional Sept. 4-5 in Kiawash Island, S.C., and a third-place finishing at the Lady Puerto Rico Classic Feb. 11-13 in Rio Mar, P.R. ■ PREVIEW WOMEN'S GOLF India Clyburn received All-ACC accolades after leading the Wolfpack and ranking 10th in the league with a 72.6 stroke average as a sophomore last year.
