FOOTBALL RECRUITING have given the coaching staff a "silent commitment." Although he remains uncommitted, the Irish are still in the pole position at this point. He has flirted with taking official visits to Alabama, Michigan and USC in addition to Notre Dame, which would all take place in the post-season to follow standard Don Bosco Prep tra- dition. He will make his choice known at the 2013 U.S. Army All-American Bowl in San Antonio — similar to for- mer teammate and Notre Dame fresh- man safety Elijah Shumate. However, the Irish still have the edge at this point for the program's top target for a cornerback-safety hy- brid. kept Notre Dame outside of his top five schools after paring down his list, but the Irish have never gone away in his recruitment. Ever since a one-day trip he took to South Bend over the summer that allowed him to spend quality one-on-one time with the coaches, he has had a clear under- standing of what it means to play for and graduate from Notre Dame. A trip to Chicago's Soldier Field to witness the Irish romp over Miami grabbed his interest again. He has re- mained in contact with Notre Dame and there's still a chance that he gets back to campus for another visit. He is the sole wide receiver prospect with an Irish offer at this time. ✦
