STOCK WATCH
Ten former Cavaliers worked out for scouts from 30 NFL
teams at UVA's annual pro day March 15 in Charlottesville,
and the event provided an opportunity for them to boost their
draft stock. Defensive lineman Andrew Brown (pictured) did
just that by improving on the 5.03-second 40-yard dash time
he posted at the NFL Scouting Combine Feb. 27-March 5 in
Indianapolis, clocking a time of 4.84 seconds in his first attempt
and a 4.9 in his second. He also checked in at 6-3 and 289
pounds, which was seven pounds less than at the combine.
"I came in with the mindset that it's going to happen re-
gardless," Brown, a former five-star recruit, told The Daily
Progress when asked about the prospects of hearing his
name called during the NFL Draft. "The process has calmed
down some, but I still just have to put my head down and
keep grinding."
The general consensus on Brown's draft stock at the conclu-
sion of the 2017 campaign was that he would be a sixth- or
seventh-round pick, or an undrafted free agent. Following
a strong showing at the Senior Bowl and his pro day perfor-
mance, though, many draft analysts viewed him as a poten-
tial third-, fourth- or fifth-round selection.
