Penn State picked up its first 2019 com- mitment along the offensive line on Sat- urday, as four-star prospect Caedan Wallace of Princeton, N.J., announced for the Nittany Lions. If all goes to plan for coach James Franklin and his staff, others may soon follow. Two prospects who will bear watching are Jakai Moore of Nokesville, Va., and Saleem Wormley of Smyrna, Del. Both players were in attendance for the Blue- White Game. In the days leading up to the Lions' spring game, Moore and Wormley were thought to be considering making verbal commitments. The pair elected to hold off for now, but they also made it clear Saturday evening that Penn State sits in a solid position. "It was worth the trip," Wormley said. "Penn State has some great fans. There was a lot of energy out there. The coaches were cool. They were joking around and telling me to cancel that offi- cial to Notre Dame and just commit al- ready." Wormley earned an offer from Franklin while on campus March 24 for junior day. He and his mother then returned last weekend for another visit. The second trip was much more personal, allowing Wormley and his mother to get a better feel for the staff and the school itself. However, he has also made it clear that he wants to see Notre Dame before mak- ing any moves. He'll get that opportunity June 15-16, as Wormley on Thursday set an official visit to South Bend. Moore has also been a regular visitor in recent months. ABer earning an offer in January, he attended junior days on Feb. 3 and March 24. Saturday was his first opportunity to see the atmosphere inside Beaver Stadium. "It's an unbelievable environment," Moore said. "It's crazy how the fans are about Penn State. They're diehard. But also, just that familylike environment re- ally stood out. The coaches were also saying that they need me bad to play of- fensive tackle." Like Wormley, Moore has one addi- tional school that he wants to see: South Carolina. However, unlike Wormley, Moore isn't waiting until the summer. He's set to take an official visit with Will Muschamp and his staff this coming weekend, April 28-29.
