here's a good chance that Penn
State's Class of 2019 will look a lot
di:erent a few months from now.
As of mid-May, the Nittany Lions had
only three verbal commitments, with
four-star o:ensive lineman Caedan Wal-
lace being the most recent prospect to
join the class, verbally committing a few
hours before the Blue-White Game. The
nation's 66th-ranked overall prospect
according to Rivals.com, Wallace earned
28 scholarship o:ers before ending his re-
cruitment. Auburn, Clemson, Florida,
Florida State, LSU and Michigan were a
few of the top programs that extended of-
fers, but he said that Oklahoma and Stan-
ford were the two programs that grabbed
his interest the most, aside from Penn
State. But even with the Sooners and Car-
dinal seeking his commitment, the Nit-
tany Lions were always clear favorites.
"Penn State is the school I felt most
comfortable with in my recruitment,"
Wallace said. "They made me feel like
family when I came to campus the 9rst
time, and that stuck with me. Penn State
is also a great academic school and can
propel me to where I want to be. I see my
teammates and I working hard and bring-
ing a national championship to Happy
Valley in the near future."
He added, "Going to Penn State means
a lot to me considering that they have an
amazing football tradition and they put
players in the [NFL]. … I'm looking for-
ward to building a strong recruiting class
and winning a national championship at
Penn State."
If all goes to plan, Wallace won't be the
only o:ensive lineman to join the Nittany
Lions' class by the time preseason prac-
tice begins in August. At the start of May,
it appeared as though there were four ad-
ditional o:ensive linemen who were fa-
voring Penn State: Jakai Moore of
Nokesville, Va.; Xavier Truss of Warwick,
R.I.; Anthony Whigan, a junior college
prospect who grew up in Great Mills, Md.,
and now attends Lackawanna College in
Scranton, Pa.; and Saleem Wormley of
Smyrna, Del.
Moore and Wormley are expected to end
their recruitment later this summer. One
