Lions' class likely to grow soon Several key prospects expected to announce college decisions this summer | T here's a good chance that Penn State's Class of 2019 will look a lot di:erent a few months from now. As of mid-May, the Nittany Lions had only three verbal commitments, with four-star o:ensive lineman Caedan Wal- lace being the most recent prospect to join the class, verbally committing a few hours before the Blue-White Game. The nation's 66th-ranked overall prospect according to Rivals.com, Wallace earned 28 scholarship o:ers before ending his re- cruitment. Auburn, Clemson, Florida, Florida State, LSU and Michigan were a few of the top programs that extended of- fers, but he said that Oklahoma and Stan- ford were the two programs that grabbed his interest the most, aside from Penn State. But even with the Sooners and Car- dinal seeking his commitment, the Nit- tany Lions were always clear favorites. "Penn State is the school I felt most comfortable with in my recruitment," Wallace said. "They made me feel like family when I came to campus the 9rst time, and that stuck with me. Penn State is also a great academic school and can propel me to where I want to be. I see my teammates and I working hard and bring- ing a national championship to Happy Valley in the near future." He added, "Going to Penn State means a lot to me considering that they have an amazing football tradition and they put players in the [NFL]. … I'm looking for- ward to building a strong recruiting class and winning a national championship at Penn State." If all goes to plan, Wallace won't be the only o:ensive lineman to join the Nittany Lions' class by the time preseason prac- tice begins in August. At the start of May, it appeared as though there were four ad- ditional o:ensive linemen who were fa- voring Penn State: Jakai Moore of Nokesville, Va.; Xavier Truss of Warwick, R.I.; Anthony Whigan, a junior college prospect who grew up in Great Mills, Md., and now attends Lackawanna College in Scranton, Pa.; and Saleem Wormley of Smyrna, Del.
