Poly product Kameron Chatman, who is rated as a four-star recruit and the No. 38 overall player in the class of 2014, has the Wolverines high on his list. photo courtesy rivals.com "He is a very versatile player," Metoyer said. "His versatility will help any type of offense. He can play fast, slow, both guard positions, both forward positions. He's a great midrange shooter who is very accu- rate from 16 or 17 feet in, but he can shoot out to the three-point line with range." He's also a very good passer and a high IQ player, Metoyer added, reminiscent of a former Wolverines great. "He has gotten some Jalen Rose comparisons," Metoyer said. "I could easily put him at the point if our starting point guard were to go out." Michigan hasn't been out to see Chatman recently, but that could well change soon — especially when the junior is back on the floor. Closer to home, Detroit Country Day junior point guard Edmond Sumner has gotten off to a solid start and is getting a look from U-M. Country Day has a history of being one of the top programs in the state of Michigan, and Sumner appears to be the next great talent to come out of the program, Rivals.com's Alex Kline of TheRecruitScoop.com reported recently. "The 6-foot-3 point guard is following in the long line of talented prospects to come out of the program, including Austin Price, Ray McCallum, Amir Williams and others," Kline wrote. "The extremely quick floor general snuck in a number of unofficial visits during the fall." Those included Massachusetts, Xavier, Michigan, Michigan State, Toledo and Kent State. Sumner hopes to see Michigan and Michigan State games soon and also wants to take a look at the campuses of Wake Forest, Minnesota and Iowa. Sumner, Rivals.com's No. 91 prospect in the junior class, hopes to improve his shooting range in preparation for the next level. "It's not really pressure, it's just I know that every game somebody is going to challenge me, so I have to prove I am the best," Sumner told Next Level Sports. Sumner denied leaning toward one school, though he has said UMass was recruiting him the hardest. That could change if he continues to play as well as he has recently. ❑   On The Web For regular reports on basketball recruiting, plus videos of all the top prospects in the nation and Michigan's commitments, visit TheWolverine.com.
