Barbour acknowledged the challenging situation while o7ering her own set of suggestions to fans displeased by the prospect of losing the network on their Comcast cable packages. "First and fore- most, I would en- courage all of our fan base who are Comcast sub- scribers to let Comcast know how they feel about that, which obviously is not favorable," Barbour said. "I think Sept. 1 is the drop-dead [dead- line], so there's certainly time to have their feelings be known, and I'm sure Comcast cares about their subscribers, cares about having subscribers and keep- ing them. A8er that, I think it's our role to make sure that our fans know where they can get the Big Ten Net- work, and there are lots of other op- portunities, op- tions and alternatives for them. A Penn State fan who wants the Big Ten Network, wants to watch Penn State, can get it. There are alternatives to that." Silverman echoed Barbour's recom- mendation to fans, noting that "Com- cast will be alone if it decides to drop BTN and Big Ten football games on FS1. BTN and Big Ten football games on FS1 are available on many different TV providers – cable, satellite and new in- ternet providers – and viewers will have no problem finding an alternate provider in their area." He recom- mended that Comcast subscribers visit Keepbigten.com to voice their concerns to Comcast or find alternate BTN providers.
