68 PRESEASON 2018 BLUE & GOLD ILLUSTRATED FOOTBALL RECRUITING ROUNDUP RECRUITING NOTES • Notre Dame was set to host 2019 Rivals100 corner- back Max Williams on an offi- cial visit Nov. 10 when Florida State comes to town, but those plans have changed. Williams announced in Au- gust that he would be com- mitting to the school of his choice Oct. 6, so he adjusted his visit schedule. The Gar- dena (Calif.) Junipero Serra product informed Blue & Gold Illustrated that his offi- cial visit to Notre Dame has been moved up to Sept. 29 when the Irish host Stanford. USC likely leads for Wil- liams, but Notre Dame will have the chance to change that should the visit indeed take place. Rivals rates Wil- liams as the No. 13 corner- back and No. 93 overall player in the nation. • The latest edition of the Rivals100 for the class of 2019 was released Aug. 14, and three Notre Dame commits made the cut. Offensive tackle Quinn Carroll of Edina (Minn.) High led the way at No. 42, with fellow offensive lineman John Olmstead of Metuchen (N.J.) St. Joseph's landing at No. 68. Alexandria (Va.) Episcopal safety Litchfield Ajavon rounded out the trio, checking in at No. 85. • Preseason honors have begun to stack up for Notre Dame commits, particularly for safety Kyle Hamilton of Atlanta Marist School. Hamilton was named preseason AAAA best player by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, while also being named to the preseason first-team defense. Hamilton also received preseason first-team all-state recognition from the Touchdown Club of Atlanta. He was also recently selected to participate in the 2019 All-American Bowl in San Antonio Jan. 5, where he will compete alongside fellow Irish commits punter Jay Bramblett of Tuscaloosa (Ala.) Hillcrest and defensive end NaNa Osafo-Mensah of Fort Worth (Texas) Nolan Catholic. Bramblett was named to USA Today's All-USA Preseason Football Team as the unit's punter. • Irish fans that follow recruiting will be able to see one of Notre Dame's commits in action on national television Oct. 12. Three-star wide receiver Cam Hart and his Olney (Md.) Good Counsel team, which was ranked No. 23 in the preseason by USA Today, will take on No. 5 Washington (D.C.) St. John's live on ESPN2 at 8 p.m. Eastern Time. — Corey Bodden and David McKinney Quarterback Brendon Clark, 6-2, 210, Midlothian, Va.
