DID YOU KNOW? Ohio State quarterback Dwayne Haskins could find himself renew- ing acquaintances with former high school teammate Cam Brown on Saturday. A junior line- backer for the Nittany Lions, Brown was a teammate of Hask- ins at the Bullis School in Mary- land. Penn State tight end Jonathan Holland also played for Bullis, graduating a year ahead of Haskins and Brown. The adula- tion of thousands of fans and the crush of media attention that fol- low a hot start can mess with the head of any young college football player. That's why Urban Meyer picked up the phone on his way home from Ohio Stadium last Saturday. Meyer wanted to talk to redshirt fresh- man quarterback Dwayne Hask- ins following the Buckeyes' 49-6 victory over Tulane, just to make sure he wasn't getting too caught up in the excite- ment. "I called him just with that message to stay focused," Meyer said. "We've had some pretty high-profile guys around here, and I've seen it. I've seen it, you know, go both ways. One thing about Columbus, Ohio, is that this is the show, and they become bigger than life."
