When she arrived at Penn State for the
start of her :rst semester, freshman
swimmer Nikolette Nolte never ex-
pected to :nd herself battling cancer for
the second time since her junior year of
high school. "Never in a million years
did I think I would be making this post,"
she wrote on Instagram on Sept. 30,
"but here we are."
Nolte, a Lenhartsville, Pa., native, had
been diagnosed with primary mediasti-
nal large B-cell lymphoma while attend-
ing Kutztown Area High School. She
underwent treatment and was found to
be cancer-free just before the start of her
senior year. Nolte resumed her swim-
ming career and :nished as a two-time
district champion and a National Inter-
scholastic Swim Coaches All-American.
