Not only did the Nittany Lions send their departing players out the way they wanted, they also served notice that the cupboards aren't ex- actly going to be bare next year. The Lions' 38-3 victory over visiting Maryland was a show of force on both sides of the ball, as they dominated a Terrapins team that only a week earlier had given newly crowned Big Ten East Di- vision champion Ohio State all it could handle in a back-and-forth overtime marathon. There was no back-and-forth on this day, as Penn State took a 7-0 lead on its first possession and never trailed the rest of the way. A week after rolling up 535 yards on the Buckeyes, Maryland managed only 259 against the Lions.
