The Nittany Lions bid farewell to their senior class by overpowering Maryland
Senior day could hardly have gone better for Penn
State. Not only did the Nittany Lions send their
departing players out the way they wanted, they
also served notice that the cupboards aren't ex-
actly going to be bare next year.
The Lions' 38-3 victory over visiting Maryland
was a show of force on both sides of the ball, as
they dominated a Terrapins team that only a week
earlier had given newly crowned Big Ten East Di-
vision champion Ohio State all it could handle in a
back-and-forth overtime marathon.
There was no back-and-forth on this day, as
Penn State took a 7-0 lead on its first possession
and never trailed the rest of the way. A week after
rolling up 535 yards on the Buckeyes, Maryland
managed only 259 against the Lions. Meanwhile,
