Person High It was a tough season for Person High, which missed the state play- offs with a 3-8 record, but Harris was chosen for the Shrine Bowl. Harris is ranked by Rivals. com as a four-star talent, the No. 6 recruit in North Caro- lina, and the No. 6 defensive tackle and No. 144 overall player nationally. DEFENSIVE END SAVION JACKSON Clayton (N.C.) High Jackson had 60 tackles (33 solo), 10.5 tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks, one fumble recovery and four blocked kicks in nine games for Clayton, missing a couple of contests with an injury. He was picked for both the Shrine Bowl and the All-American Bowl (formerly known as the U.S. Army All-American Game) Jan. 5 in San Antonio. Rivals.com ranks Jackson as a four-star prospect, the No. 5 recruit in the state, and the No. 9 strongside defensive end and No. 123 overall player in the country. RUNNING BACK ZONOVAN KNIGHT Bailey (N.C.) Southern Nash High Knight was a big-play running back this season, running 124 times for 2,054 yards and 26 touch- downs in 11 games for South- ern Nash, which went unde- feated until being upset in the second round of the 3-A state playoffs. He also had one touchdown reception and returned four kicks (two punts and two kickoffs) for scores. Knight was among those picked for the Shrine Bowl. He finished his career with 5,073 rushing yards, the most in school his- tory. Rivals.com lists Knight as a three-star recruit, the No. 20 player in the state and the No. 28 running back nationally. WIDE RECEIVER KEYON LESANE Matthews (N.C.) Butler High Lesane started the season with a bang, catching two passes, both for touchdowns, for 85 yards, including a 74-yarder, and ran five times for 68 yards while being named Player of the Game in a win over Laurinburg (N.C.) Scotland High in the annual Charlotte Kickoff Night. But- ler would finish the season 9-3. Rivals.com rates Lesane as a three-star recruit.
