Lions add five commitments
during April recruiting surge
|
S
ince taking over at Penn State, James
Franklin and his assistants have had
success adding multiple commitments in
short bursts.
For example, in April 2016, the Nittany
Lions picked up four commitments in a
nine-day span. They did it again 10
months later, adding four commitments
during a single week in February 2017.
Fast-forward to May
2018 and you'll no-
tice :ve commit-
ments in :ve days.
This year, the
;urry of additions
took a bit longer than
in those previous ex-
amples. But when
April was all said and
done, Penn State had
added :ve new com-
mitments to its 2020 class, including four
oer receiving Achumba's commit-
ment, the Nittany Lions added two
prospects to their class during Blue-
White Weekend. Another oer that camp. Two Illinois
prospects – Jack Olsen of Wheaton
and Kai Kroegar of Lake Forest – both
visited Penn State this spring. They
also rank among the nation's best
punters, so we'll be keeping an eye on
them this summer. ■
