174 ■ THE WOLVERINE 2019 FOOTBALL PREVIEW FOOTBALL RECRUITING The 6-1, 190-pounder is aggressive and fast. He's the No. 23 outside linebacker in the country and is getting attention from schools like Ohio State, Penn State, Pittsburgh and Rutgers. He planned to official visit Michi- gan from June 21-23. Cornerback Committed: 1 (Belleville [Mich.] High four-star Andre Seldon) Projected Take: 1-2 Synopsis: Seldon ranks as the No. 31 cor- nerback nationally, but U-M is not content with just him. As a one-time Oklahoma commit from Harbor City (Calif.) Narbonne, four-star Dar- ion Green-Warren seems like a tough pull for Michigan, but he's routinely been mentioning U-M as a program he has to check out. Georgia and USC are the other two schools linked to the 6-0, 173-pounder most often. As the No. 20 cornerback and No. 221 overall prospect nationally, he's worth the effort the Wolverines are putting into his recruitment. Another seemingly difficult pull is Miami Central four-star Henry Gray. When a pros- pect is all the way down in Miami, it usually means Michigan won't even get a chance, but the 6-1, 180-pounder was on campus in Ann Arbor in early June and indicated that he's very interested in the Wolverines. In fact, Gray is not even considering any Florida programs with Ohio State and Penn State as his other two main suitors. The No. 18 cornerback and No. 207 overall prospect in the country hopes to make a decision in July. Safety Committed: 0 Projected Take: 1-2 Synopsis: Michigan is in the lead group for each of its top safety targets. Pearland (Texas) Shadow Creek four-star Xavion Al- ford, West Bloomfield (Mich.) High four- star Makari Paige, Oradell (N.J.) Bergen Catholic four-star Jordan Morant and High- land Springs (Va.) High four-star Malcolm Greene are giving U-M a serious look. Alford has a big, loaded top group and seems to like quite a few schools on that list, including Alabama, Georgia, Texas, Texas A&M and Michigan. At 6-1, 184 pounds, Alford is the No. 11 safety and No. 147 overall prospect nationally. Even though he's an in-state kid, the 6-3, 185-pound Paige — the No. 18 safety in America — may actually be leaning toward Ohio State. Michigan likely leads for Morant, a 6-0, 190-pounder who is considered the No. 20 safety in the nation. The Wolverines may also be at the top for the 5-10, 177-pound Greene, the No. 23 safety in the country. ❏ Recruiting Scoop Daily Team Coverage Expert Analysis Prospect Videos Expert Message Boards *Use Promo Code BLUE30 FREE 30-Day Trial!
