Event Recaps Earth, Wind & Fire concert at John Paul Jones Arena. Earth, Wind & Fire Concert On Feb. 23, 2013, the Virginia Athletics Foundation hosted a Donor Appreciation concert at John Paul Jones Arena to thank our committed donors and fans and to celebrate the past 10 years of Virginia athletics' success. The evening began with a formal program led by Ronde Barber, former Cavalier and Tampa Bay Buccaneer. Featured speakers included Craig Littlepage (athletics director), Bart Farinholt (VAF board president), Kim Lewellen (head women's golf coach) and Brian Boland (head men's tennis coach). Each speaker expressed their gratitude for the loyal support of donors and fans, which helped make the past 10 years possible. The coaches shared touching highlights that depicted the impact that donor support had on the experience of each of their student-athletes and their respective programs. The program featured a video message by President Sullivan who noted, "Virginia athletics is a rallying point for everyone affiliated with the University family. The University is committed to excellence in everything and student-athletes show the way for all students through their sportsmanship, character and honor." UVa alumni and major donors Paul Tudor Jones and Amy Griffin, former football standout Chris Long and Jan Mann, the first women's golf coach at Virginia, also shared the impact the athletics program has on the University of Virginia and the importance of staying invested to maintain a nationally recognized program.
