Defensive Line
Four-star Jahvaree Ritzie from Glenn
High in Kernersville, N.C., is part of an
impressive collection of talent in the Triad
region of North Carolina in the 2021 class,
and he has been on NC State's radar since
last fall.
The Wolfpack offered him a scholar-
ship in mid-January, and he followed up by
coming to an NC State junior day a couple
of weeks later. He was also in the stands
when NCSU trounced East Carolina 58-3
in the regular-season finale last November.
The 6-5, 245-pound Ritzie was back in
Raleigh for the Alpha Wolf Showcase and
in particular enjoyed working with defen-
sive line coach Kevin Patrick.
"He's a great guy, and I can learn some
of the techniques he taught me," Ritzie
noted. "I can use those in games and see
how they work out."
In addition to NC State, Ritzie said that
Duke, North Carolina, South Carolina and
Virginia Tech have been other schools that
have prioritized him.
Ritzie recorded 27 stops, 10 tackles for
loss and seven sacks in just six games last
season. Rivals.com ranks him as the No. 8
junior in the state and the No. 6 strongside
defensive end in the country.
Linebacker
On the surface, it may seem difficult for
NC State to pull a heavily recruited line-
backer like Bryce Steele from Episcopal
High in Alexandria, Va., away from heavy-
weights such as Michigan, Notre Dame,
