THE LATEST Downs has been commit- ted to the Tar Heels since February, but he took an o-cial visit to Penn State in late June. He spoke highly of the trip during an interview at the Rivals Five- Star Challenge, but since then, there just hasn't been much to report. In early July, there was speculation that Downs was considering a +ip, but it's now been more than a month and he's still committed to North Carolina. He also visited Chapel Hill again before the August dead period began. We'll continue to monitor Downs this season, but it's not going to be easy for Penn State to get him back on campus now that he's used his o-cial visit. KeANDRE LAMBERT WR | Norfolk, Va. | Maury SCHOOLS Penn State, North Carolina, Virginia Tech THE LATEST Lambert appears to be the sta,'s top remaining target to *nish o, the position. He's already used his o-cial visits to North Carolina and Penn State, but he's also taken multiple uno-cial vis- its to both schools during the past year and will likely visit both again before making his commitment. Virginia Tech is also pushing for an o-cial visit during the *rst few weeks of the season, as Lambert is planning to make a decision at some point in October. It appears as though all three schools have a real chance here. He's also made it clear that he covets an o,er from Clemson, although he hadn't re- ceived one as of this writing.
