Notre Dame 17 Rk. School Commits Rk. School Commits RECRUITING NOTES • Notre Dame extended a new 2021 offer to Philadelphia St. Joseph's wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. He is the son of former Indianapolis Colts standout Marvin Harrison, who was selected into the NFL Hall of Fame in 2016. Rivals ranks the younger Harrison as the No. 3 prospect in Pennsylva- nia, and the No. 15 wide receiver and No. 76 overall player in the country. Harrison received the offer from Irish receivers coach Del Alexander during a conversation. The 6-4, 175-pounder wants to set up a visit to Notre Dame this fall, but due to his current schedule, he may have to wait until the offsea- son to travel to South Bend. Harrison added that he was happy to receive the offer because of Notre Dame's prestigious football program and academics. • On Sept. 17, Olney (Md.) Good Counsel 2021 offensive tackle Landon Tengwall placed Notre Dame in his top three along with Michigan and Penn State. Tengwall's top group doesn't come as a surprise — he has been focused on those three schools for the past several months. Rivals ranks the 6-6, 315-pounder as a four-star recruit, the No. 4 pros- pect in Maryland, and the No. 8 offensive tackle and No. 54 overall recruit nationally. "Those three are definitely my top schools," Tengwall said. "I have great relationships with those coaches. I've learned things from the coaches there and implement them into my game." Tengwall's last trip to Notre Dame was in March, and the Irish made a huge impression on him during the two-day visit. He hasn't been back to South Bend since, but he is keeping in regular contact with Notre Dame offensive line coach Jeff Quinn. "We talk pretty consistently," Tengwall told Blue & Gold Illustrated. "He's one of the best coaches in the business. It's great to just talk some football with him." • Atlanta Hapeville Charter 2021 wide receiver Jaquez Smith, the No. 22 wide receiver and No. 113 overall recruit nationally per Rivals, placed Notre Dame in his top five along with Alabama, Auburn, Georgia and LSU. Smith visited Notre Dame in the spring. He is a prospect of interest, but not a major priority for the Irish at this time. • Aurora (Colo.) Cherokee Trail's Sam Hart visited Notre Dame for the New Mexico game Sept. 14. Hart, who is rated as the No. 9 tight end and No. 236 overall recruit in the 2021 class by Rivals, has the Irish as a top school in his recruitment. His visit was also to see his brother, Alex Hart, a linebacker for the Lobos, compete against the Irish. Hart finished the game with four tackles and two for loss. "I was super impressed with the atmosphere," Hart said. "They were always doing some chant or something, and the students stayed there the whole game even though they were up by like 50 points, and that was super impressive." — Mike Singer Follow @BGI_MikeSinger on Twitter for daily recruiting updates!
