DECEMBER 2019 THE WOLVERINE 49   MICHIGAN RECRUITING as well. An early enrollee, Stroud will look to make his decision during the early signing period in December. He is still weighing his official vis- its, and Michigan must get him on campus to become a true player in his recruitment. Aside from Stroud, U-M has yet to offer any other prospect at the posi- tion. The Wolverines, however, are tak- ing looks at Washington State commit Jayden De Laura of Honolulu St. Louis and Florida State pledge Jeffrey Sims of Jacksonville (Fla.) Sandalwood. De Laura is Rivals' No. 22 dual-threat quarterback in the country, while Sims has been tabbed as the No. 14 pro-style quarterback in the land. Michigan holds a commitment from La Grange Park (Ill.) Nazareth Acad- emy four-star quarterback JJ McCar- thy — the No. 27 overall prospect na- tionally per Rivals — in the 2021 class. JIM HARBAUGH HITS RECRUITING TRAIL DURING BYE WEEK Following big wins over Notre Dame and Maryland, Michigan got some much-needed rest in the form of a bye week. Jim Harbaugh, though, never seems to take a vacation. In fact, Harbaugh got on a plane to New England just two days after the Maryland victory to see a pair of Michigan commits in four-star Cam- bridge (Mass.) Buckingham & Browne Nichols offensive lineman Zak Zinter and four-star Milton (Mass.) Acad- emy linebacker Kalel Mullings. Zinter committed to Michigan in May and is completely solid with the Wolverines. He is ranked as the No. 17 offensive tackle and No. 158 overall player nationally by Rivals. He was recently on campus for the win over Notre Dame and is set to enroll early. Like Zinter, Mullings is locked in with Michigan. Mullings — Rivals' No. 10 outside linebacker and No. 108 overall recruit and in the country — picked the Wolverines in June over a slew of major offers. He is looking to make his way back to Ann Arbor for the game against Ohio State Nov. 30. Harbaugh's stop at Buckingham & Browne Nichols allowed him to see one of Michigan's top 2022 targets in elite linebacker Tyler Martin, who will also be making his way to The Big House for the game against Ohio State. Michigan is considered the early frontrunner in Martin's recruitment. After spending some time in the Northeast, Harbaugh made his way out West to see one of Michigan's top remaining targets in Harbor City (Calif.) Narbonne four-star Darion Green-Warren, who is ranked as the No. 15 cornerback in the class of 2020. While USC is the favorite, Michi- gan has been making a strong push and is set to host him for an official visit in early December. With so many question marks surrounding USC, Harbaugh and company are looking to take advantage. After checking in on Green-War- ren, Harbaugh watched Rancho Cu- With Johnson no longer playing football, Michigan has offered Rancho Cucamonga (Calif.) High 2020 four-star CJ Stroud, the No. 12 pro-style quarterback in the country according to Rivals. PHOTO COURTESY RIVALS.COM 2020 Michigan Commitment List Player Pos. Ht. Wt.
