FEBRUARY 2020 THE WOLVERINE 59   MICHIGAN RECRUITING St. Frances, where we play the best competition, I felt like I fit in." Four-star offensive line signee Zak Zinter, four-star defensive back signees Makari Paige and Andre Sel- don, and three-star linebacker signee Nikhai Hill-Green also took part in bowl practices with the Wolverines. Zinter is expected to be a mauler in the interior for the Wolverines. Hill- Green is also on campus early, which will be extremely beneficial for the upside prospect. Seldon was a star at the Under Ar- mour All-America Game and should be a playmaker as a nickel. A four- star recruit, Paige is a long, rangy safety that could get on the field ear- lier than expected. Four-star Michigan defensive end signee Braiden McGregor was on campus during the bowl practices, but he was not able to participate due to injury. However, McGregor did work with the Michigan strength and conditioning program. WHAT'S NEXT IN 2020? Michigan only has a couple of spots remaining in the 2020 class heading into the regular signing period. The Wolverines don't have many prospects left on the board, but they are making three-star Chantilly (Va.) High offensive tackle James Pogorelc the top overall priority. Pogorelc made an unofficial visit to Michigan in November and returned to Ann Arbor for an official visit a month later. He had a blast on cam- pus, and the Wolverines appeared to pull even with fellow finalists Stan- ford and Virginia. "I'd say I feel really good about Michigan at this point and think they're in a very good spot in my recruitment," Pogorelc said fol- lowing his official visit. "They offer a world-renowned degree, have a tremendous football pro- gram and I got a really good feel for the coaches and players, which is pretty important." However, Pogorelc made an official visit to Virginia, where his mother graduated from, soon after and is slated to see Stanford before National Signing Day. Michigan needs to find a way to rebuild momentum. Aside from Pogorelc, Michigan has explored a few options in the NCAA transfer portal. One name that is on the board should be a familiar one for Michigan fans — Stanford offen- sive tackle Devery Hamilton. He was committed to the Wolverines during his recruiting process before the four- star prospect eventually landed at Stanford. Michigan will look to seal the deal with the graduate transfer the second time around. The Wolverines would also like to find an immediate impact defensive tackle. The Wolverines are courting Stanford graduate transfer Michael Williams, who hopes to visit Michi- gan soon. While talks are still in a preliminary stage, Williams has high interest in the program. "We've talked once or twice," Wil- liams said. "The most important thing is meeting Coach [Jim] Har- baugh and Coach [Shaun] Nua. They are planning to come visit after the dead period. "I'm very interested and planning to take a visit if they let me." As it stands right now, there just aren't many targets on the board left in 2020. ❑ 2020 Michigan Signee List Player Pos. Ht. Wt.
