Men's Gymnastics (5-0 Overall) Michigan kicked off its 2020 campaign by coming in first place out of six teams in the Windy City Invitational Jan. 18 in Chicago, finishing with a score of 400.000 … Junior Cameron Bock took second place in the all-around competition with a score of 83.150. Women's Gymnastics (3-0 Overall, 1-0 Big Ten) Michigan got the 2020 season underway by taking first place out of three teams (Washington and Texas Woman's University were the other two) with a 195.650 score Jan. 10 in Ann Arbor … U-M shared or won outright all four event and all-around titles in its 196.700-195.650 victory at No. 13 Illinois Jan. 18. Men's Swimming And Diving (5-1 Overall, 3-1 Big Ten) U-M defeated No. 5 Indiana 160-140 Jan. 11 … Senior Tommy Cope won three events (100-yard breaststroke, 200-yard breast- stroke and 200-yard individual medley) en route to earning Big Ten Swimmer of the Week honors. Women's Swimming And Diving (5-0 Overall, 3-0 Big Ten) The Wolverines won 12 of 16 events to take down No. 15 Indiana 186-114 Jan. 11 … Sophomore Olivia Carter won the 200-yard butterfly, 100-yard butterfly and 200-yard individual medley … U-M followed up its triumph over the Hoosiers by grabbing a 165-135 victory at No. 18 Ohio State Jan. 18. Men's Tennis (2-1 Overall) Michigan wrapped up an impressive 2-0 West Coast road trip by defeating Washington 7-0 Jan. 17 and Oregon 5-2 Jan. 19. Women's Tennis Junior Alyvia Jones put together a 3-0 weekend on the singles court during the non-team scoring Michigan Invitational Jan. 17-19 in Ann Arbor. Men's Indoor Track And Field Sophomore shot putter John Meyer, sophomore distance runner Colton Yesney and sophomore pole vaulter Eric Harris all picked up wins in their respective events in the season- opening Wolverine Invitational Jan. 11 … Senior sprinter/ hurdles specialist Roland Amarteifio was named one of 27 semifinalists for the Wooden Citizenship Cup Award Jan. 14, which honors "student-athletes who demonstrate character and leadership in and out of competition" … U-M came in first place out of three teams (MSU and Ohio State were the other two) at the Simmons-Harvey Invitational Jan. 18. Women's Indoor Track And Field Senior thrower Courtney Jacobsen and fifth-year senior thrower Briana Nelson combined for four school-record heaves at the Wolverine Invitational Jan. 11, with the former's toss of 20.15 meters setting the new school mark … Fifth-year senior distance runner Meg Darmofal was named Big Ten Track Ath- lete of the Week Jan. 15 after finishing the 800 meters in 2:08.24 at the Wolverine Invitational … U-M took down Ohio State and MSU to win the Simmons-Harvey Invitational Jan. 18. Water Polo (2-2 Overall) Michigan went 2-2 Jan. 18-19 in its four-match stretch to open the 2020 season in Santa Barbara, Calif., defeating No. 22 Cal State Northridge (8-7) and No. 11 UC Santa Barbara (9-7). Wrestling (4-2 Overall, 3-0 Big Ten) The Maize and Blue won each of their first five bouts (and six overall) in their 22-14 triumph over Michigan State Jan. 10 … Redshirt junior Tyler Meisinger earned his first collegiate dual win at 165 pounds with a 12-9 decision in Michigan's 34-3 win over Maryland Jan. 17 … Sophomore heavyweight Mason Parris improved to 19-0 on the year and picked up his third straight pin in the Wolverines' 22-15 victory over No. 11 Minnesota Jan. 19. — Austin Fox Updates On Michigan Olympic Sports In Progress J u n i o r p i t c h e r M e g h a n Beaubien was named a first- team All-American and the Big Ten Pitcher of the Year as a freshman, and then repeated as a first-team All-Big Ten and first-team All-Great Lakes Region pick last season.
