Beat Ohio State and make the
Big Ten Championship Game
It's now been 15 years (2004) since the Wolverines last won a Big Ten title. The Wol-
verines captured a share of the Big Ten East two seasons ago, but that came on the
heels of a 62-39 beating in Columbus. Not many were ready to celebrate what felt like
a hollow co-championship.
Unfortunately, the Buckeyes don't seem to be going anywhere. They're in everyone's
preseason top five after making the College Football Playoff last year and return elite
talent, led by quarterback Justin Fields. U-M is going to have to raise its game to win a
title — and they play Ohio State in Columbus in 2020.
Led by MVP wide receiver Braylon Edwards, the 2004 Wolverines were the
last to win the Big Ten.

Michigan finished last season ranked No. 18
in the Associated Press poll with a 9-4 record
(6-3 Big Ten). The Wolverines lost their two
biggest road games again, a problem over the
last few years, and dropped the finale against
Ohio State for the eighth straight season (an
even bigger problem).
