JULY/AUGUST 2020 ■ 19 TRACKING THE PACK ment preference or other snapping quirks? "I just try to get it wherever they want the ball. There wasn't anybody in particu- lar that voiced any preferences last season. They all stood back there ready. "Just like them, I have to play and worry about the defensive linemen after the snap." You had a new position coach last year in offensive line coach John Garrison. What's your relationship like with him, and how did he support you in your first year as a starter? "He was a huge help for me. When he first came in, he was able to get me to look at the small details of my game. He's definitely helped me take my game to the next level. "As an O-line, we've all been blessed to have him as a coach." What do you consider your best strength on the field? "My IQ is definitely up there. My expe- rience from playing on both sides of the ball helps me see things as they develop on the field." What made you pick NC State when you committed out of high school? "I wanted my mom and dad to be able to come to see me play, and NC State is about two hours from my hometown. "I also liked what Coach [Dave] Doeren was starting to build here. I saw that this was a program that was on the rise, and I wanted to be a part of that." You were the only player on offense last season to start in every game. What are your secrets to staying healthy? "I know this sounds weird, but sleep is key. I try to find time to take naps through- out the day. "You have to sleep right, you have to eat right and you have to get in the ice tub." What are you studying, and what are your plans after football? "Business administration is my major. I was trying to find an internship this spring before coronavirus shut things down. "I just want to get a good job with my degree to support myself after football." — Justin H. Williams 1.
