AUGUST 2020 THE WOLVERINE 29 of honors during her time in Ann Ar- bor, grabbing Michigan's Female Ath- lete of the Year Award in 2018, while also taking home consensus first-team All-Big Ten honors and All-America honorable mention accolades from the Women's Basketball Coaches As- sociation each of her final three years at U-M. The guard was also tabbed as the Big Ten's Sixth Player of the Year in 2014-15, and took home MVP honors at the 2017 WNIT after helping lead Michigan to its first-ever title in the postseason event. — Austin Fox MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY MASON FERLIC (2011-15) Ferlic was a two-time All-Ameri- can and racked up a plethora of ad- ditional accolades throughout his career running cross country (and track) for the Wolverines, winning a regional title, three All-Big Ten hon- ors and three All-Region laurels on the cross country course. After a medical redshirt in 2012, he made impressive individual fin- ishes at the NCAA Championships in 2013 and 2014, placing 22nd and 14th, respectively. The latter helped the Wolverines finish 11th nationally. He won the Great Lakes Regional championship in 2015, and then was the Wolverines' top finisher at the NCAA Championships, where the team placed ninth. His second-place finish at the Big Ten meet in 2015 helped springboard U-M to its first team conference crown since 1998. That title stood as one of two league championships for the decade (the Wolverines also won in 2017, two years after Ferlic finished his collegiate career). — Clayton Sayfie WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY ERIN FINN (2013-16) Finn was in Ann Arbor for more than half of the decade due to a red- shirt season and a medical hardship year she was granted because of in- jury, but she was out of cross country eligibility in her fifth and sixth years on campus. In cross country, she was a three- time All-American, the 2016 Great Lakes Regional champion and a three-time Big Ten champion. At the 2016 NCAA Championships, she was the individual runner-up, which helped the team also place second. She was named Big Ten Cross Country Athlete of the Year three different times throughout her ca- reer (2013, 2015 and 2016). Under her leadership, the Wolverines won three NCAA Great Lakes Regional team titles and finished top-six as a group at the NCAA Championships all three of those same seasons. Even with all of the success and ac- colades, perhaps the most impressive moment of Finn's career was when she lost a shoe at the 2,000-meter mark at the 2015 NCAA Champion- ships, but managed to still finish 19th PHOTO BY LON HORWEDEL
