4 THE WOLVERINE NOVEMBER 2021   FROM OUR READERS On the outlook for Michigan bas- ketball … • I think we lost some strong leader- ship with Isaiah Livers, Franz Wagner and Mike Smith last year and you don't just easily replace that. Having said that, I think Eli Brooks and Hunter Dickinson should be dra- matically better across the board, so we will be improved there. I think we likely finish top four in the Big Ten and have some inconsistency because of not having Smith, however I do think our team will have some success in the tournament again. My prediction is top four in regular-season B1G, B1G tour- ney championship, Elite 8 appearance. I am hoping I am being conservative across the board here. hail2michigan • The talent alone says 23 to 25 wins. If they gel with all that talent, they can win the B1G and the tournament. That said, the B1G has been the most consistent conference in basketball for years, so odds are, 23-7 seems reason- able. Macdaddy7657 • Knew we were getting a high-char- acter guy in Juwan Howard, but man, does he just GET IT or what? He is ev- erything we could possibly ask for in a leader for our program. Marzanoj • I'll just say it's a great time to be a Michigan fan. I'm really looking for- ward to the back half of the football schedule, but our basketball program is elite and March Madness is my favorite postseason tournament. This fall/winter is not going to be short on entertain- ment, that's for sure RyanRob03 • I am super excited about the fresh- men but I'm eyeing the improvement of all three sophomores: Hunter Dick- inson, Zeb Jackson, Terrance Williams. goblue532 • The team is loaded. I went to the Midnight Madness event at Crisler with my boys. Very impressive team physi- cally. Brooks coming back was huge. DeVante' Jones is just what we needed. Skilled, experienced, and a ball hawk defensively. Having two 23-year-old guards as talented as Jones and Brooks is an unheard-of luxury.   FROM OUR WEBSITE Expectations are high for Michigan basket- ball, thanks to the return of All-American sophomore center Hunter Dickinson, among others.
