26 THE WOLVERINE NOVEMBER 2021 BY CHRIS BALAS J im Harbaugh's seventh Michigan team was exceeding expectations through seven games, posting an unblemished 7-0 record with big road wins at Wisconsin and Nebraska. The Wolverines were ranked No. 6 in the country headed into the game with Mich- igan State. Here's a look at how each position group is grading out so far: QUARTERBACKS: C Redshirt freshman Cade McNamara is undefeated in games he's started and fin- ished, and he was extremely impressive in the comeback win at Rutgers last year. That's a huge positive. He checks into the right plays, he doesn't turn it over — he also throws balls early if he has to in order to avoid sacks and doesn't take them (only Second-year freshman Blake Corum (above) and redshirt sophomore Hassan Haskins have combined for 1,328 yards and 20 touchdowns on the ground through seven games.
