It is the worst winning percentage for an opponent that has played at least 10 games there. The next worst are Indiana (1-13-1, .100), Miami (1-9, .100) and Army (1-8, .111). The Tar Heels' 13 defeats represent the most by an Irish opponent that has yet to register a win at Notre Dame Stadium. 10 Straight wins in night games at home for Notre Dame, after beating USC and North Carolina the last two weekends of October. The last time the Irish fell in a prime-time home matchup was their 20-19 loss to Geor- gia on Sept. 9, 2017. 22 Consecutive victories versus ACC opponents for Notre Dame. Since 2017, the Fighting Irish have a 26-1 record against ACC foes. The lone defeat in that stretch was a 41-8 loss at Miami on Nov. 11, 2017. 39-2 Record for Notre Dame under Brian Kelly when it scores 40 or more points. The Irish have won 25 straight when scoring that many points, with the last loss being a 50-47 two-overtime setback at Texas on Sept. 4, 2016. The Irish also fell 43-40 in overtime at home to Northwestern on Nov. 15, 2014. 91 Yards on junior running back Kyren Williams' touchdown run early in the fourth quarter. That represents a personal best for Williams and was the longest run by an Irish player since sophomore running back Chris Tyree's 94-yard scoring scamper against Syracuse in 2020. The 91-yard run is the longest ever given up by North Carolina in its program history. 199 Rushing yards for Williams represents a new career high. His previ- ous best was 185 against Florida State on Oct. 10, 2020. The 199 rushing yards were the most by an Irish player since Dexter Williams amassed 202 against Florida State on Nov. 10, 2018. 293 Rushing yards for Notre Dame, the most this season and the highest total since a 353-yard effort against Florida State on Oct. 10, 2020. In their first five games this season, the Irish managed just 404 (80.8 rushing yards per game). Over their last three contests, the Irish are averaging 214.3 rushing yards per game. 400th Career game as a head coach for North Carolina's Mack Brown, but his first ever at Notre Dame Stadium. Brown never faced the Irish until 2020 and is now 0-2 against them, with a 31-17 loss last year in Chapel Hill and this year's 44-34 defeat in South Bend. 1,087 Combined total yards by North Carolina and Notre Dame. The Tar Heels actually outgained the Fighting Irish 564-523. The last time the two teams played in South Bend in 2014, they combined for 1,029 yards in Notre Dame's 50-43 victory. BY THE NUMBERS BY STEVE DOWNEY 21 Yards on graduate student quarterback JACK COAN'S touchdown run in the third quarter. He finished the game with 28 yards on three attempts after compiling minus-88 yards on 38 carries in the first seven games of the season. The 21-yard run is a season best for Coan and marked his first rushing touch- down for the Irish, but his personal best remains a 25-yarder he notched for Wis- consin in 2019 when he posted four rush- ing scores for the Badgers.
