" UVA DIRECTOR OF ATHLETICS CARLA WILLIAMS ON ELLIOTT TONY ELLIOTT NAMED UVA'S FRALIN TONY ELLIOTT NAMED UVA'S FRALIN FAMILY HEAD FOOTBALL COACH FAMILY HEAD FOOTBALL COACH On Dec. 10, Tony Elliott was tabbed to be the 41st head coach in the history of the University of Virginia football program. Elliott, who was a wide receiver for Clemson from 1999-2003, has been instrumen- tal in the success of his alma mater as an assistant coach over the past decade. He first served as the Tigers' running backs coach (2011-20) and co-offensive coordinator (2014-20), before being named the assistant head coach and offensive coordinator in January 2021. During his time at Clemson, the Tigers captured six ACC championships and won a pair of national championships (2016 and 2018). Clemson also put together a 10-year stretch during which it won at least 10 games every season. Since Elliott's promotion to co-offensive coordinator, the Tigers have posted an 89-10 record and ranked in the top 12 nationally in total offense.
