FEBRUARY 2022 29 Following graduation, Frentz spent a year at UVA Hospital realizing where her career was headed. She went to the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond for gradu- ate school and earned a master's degree in health care administration. Eventually, she landed in Louisville, Ky., to work as a hospital administrator with Humana, which owned and operated hospitals in the 1980s. While in Louisville, Frentz met her husband, Thomas, who graduated from Vanderbilt and later received a law degree from the University of Louisville before becoming an attorney. Together, they have two children: a daughter, Betsy Brill, who is a 2010 graduate of McIntire, and a son, William, who graduated from Centre Col- lege in 2013. Frentz and her husband are now retired and love when UVA comes to Louisville to compete in basketball and other sports. To stay busy, Frentz has a part-time job at Home Depot and continues her passion for sports by playing golf at a local public course and tennis as part of the United States Tennis Association. Impressively, Frentz earned a 3.5 ranking in USTA tennis. "I am so proud to be a UVA alumna," she said, "particularly because of my involve- ment in the advent of women's lacrosse and basketball athletics at the University. Go Hoos!" — Jess Armistead A resident of Louisville, Ky., Frentz enjoys watching Cavalier teams when they visit for basketball games and other sporting events.
