MARCH/APRIL 2022 ■ 25 of 25-17, which includes a 1-7 confer- ence mark for an injury-riddled squad in 2019. In the other four seasons during that stretch, the Pack is 24-10 in league play, including setting a school record with seven ACC victories in 2020. At Doeren's recent success rate, he is on track to surpass Edwards' mark for most wins at NC State within the next two years. He is currently second in that category, having surpassed Dick Sheri- dan's 52 victories in 2020. "Dave continues to provide tremen- dous leadership for NC State football and elevate the standards for our pro- gram," director of athletics Boo Cor- rigan said in a prepared statement. "We continue to see competitive growth, academic growth and there is great con- tinuity among our entire staff. "Dave and [wife] Sara are deeply in- vested in both the NC State and Raleigh communities, and we're excited for even greater days ahead." "NC State is home for my entire fam- ily, and I'm so grateful to Chancellor [Randy] Woodson and Boo Corrigan for their support and commitment to Wolfpack football," Doeren added. "We continue to build something special in Raleigh, and I'm so excited about the future." In addition to Doeren's extension, NC State confirmed that all 10 assistant coaches have received new agreements, although no terms were announced. That will make the Wolfpack the only team in the ACC to retain its entire staff from last season. NCSU enters the 2022 season with heightened expectations. Several media outlets, including writers at ESPN.com and The Athletic, have listed NC State within the top 10 of their versions of the way-too-early top 25. Numerous others have included the Wolfpack inside the top 15. ■ Heading into his 10th season on the job, Doeren is the second-longest- tenured football coach in the ACC (behind Clemson's Dabo Swinney) and the eighth-longest among Power Five coaches.
