The Nittany Lions picked up a pair of veteran guard transfers on April 14 in the form of Camren Wynter from Drexel and Andrew Funk from Bucknell. The two players announced their verbal commit- ments within minutes of each other, and they have since signed. Wynter and Funk will conclude their collegiate careers in Happy Valley, ex- hausting their final season of eligibility in 2022-23. The additions offer an important brace for second-year head coach Micah Shrewsberry, who set out this offseason to bolster his five-man recruiting class with some veterans. "For next year's team, we do want to add a couple older guys so we don't have to lean on those freshmen just to be prime- time players right off the bat, which is really hard to do as a college freshman," Shrewsberry said at the beginning of the offseason. "No matter how good you are, freshmen struggle a little bit." Wynter arrives in Happy Valley after a decorated career at Drexel, where he made the All-Colonial Athletic Association first team for the past two seasons. Listed at 6-foot-2, 185 pounds, Wyn- ter also received interest from the likes of Maryland, Seton Hall, Ohio State, Michi- gan and Arkansas.
