THE WOLVERINE 2022 FOOTBALL PREVIEW ■ 137 TOP FIVE INDIVIDUAL GAME PERFORMANCES 1. HASSAN HASKINS vs. Ohio State — Against a Buckeye defense that entered the 42-27 U-M win Nov. 27 allowing just 102.3 rushing yards per game, Haskins toted the rock 28 times for a career-high 169 yards and 5 touchdowns. That marked the most rushing touchdowns by a U-M player against the hated rival and tied the program's single-game record set by Ron Johnson against Wisconsin on Nov. 16, 1968. Fifteen of his 28 rushes (53.6 percent) were either first downs or touchdowns. 2. Aidan Hutchinson vs. Ohio State — Hutchinson set U-M's single-season sack record with 3 against the Buckeyes, 2 of which came on third downs, including 1 in the first quarter that forced Ohio State to settle for a field goal. That brought his total up to 13 sacks for the 2021 campaign, and he recorded one more the following week. Before Nov. 27, no team — let alone any single player — regis - tered 3 sacks against Ohio State during the 2021 season. According to PFF, Hutchinson had 15 quarterback pressures, the most in a single game since the site started tracking the stat in 2014. He also drew a holding call and totaled 5 tackles with 1 quarterback hurry. 3. Blake Corum vs. Washington — Averaging 8.1 yards per carry, Corum rushed 21 times for a career-high 171 yards in U-M's 31-10 win over Washington Sept. 11. He recorded the game's first touchdown with a 67-yard dash to put U-M up 10-0 in the second quarter and scored two other times — from 7 yards out and on a 4-yard run. His 171 yards on the ground were the most by a U-M rusher in a game since 2017. 4. Jake Moody vs. Nebraska — Moody tied for sixth in the U-M record books with 4 made field goals in the 32-29 win over the Huskers, and all of his makes were important ones. He got the Wolverines going early, scoring the first 6 points of the game on 35-yard and 21-yard second-quarter field goals. Then in the fourth stanza, he knocked home the game-tying score with three minutes to go (31 yards) and the game-winner with 1:24 left on the clock (39). He was also 2 of 2 on extra points. 5. Hassan Haskins vs. Penn State — Without Corum due to an ankle injury, Haskins was the lone featured back against the Nittany Lions, and he did much of the heavy lifting. He carried the ball a career-high 31 times for 156 yards and caught a team-high (and career-best) 5 passes for 45 yards. He touched the ball on 36 of the Wolverines' 69 offensive plays, a staggering 52.2 percent of the time, and picked up 11 of the team's 21 first downs. DEFENSE ................
