RECRUITING NOTES • Of Notre Dame's 23 commits in the 2023 cycle, 21 of them taken their Notre Dame official visit already. The two who haven't yet have dates set up to take them, though. Merrillville (Ind.) Andrean's Drayk Bowen, the No. 18 linebacker and No. 207 overall player nationally per On3, will take his official for the Clemson weekend Nov. 5, and Wood‑ berry Forest (Va.) High's Armel Mukam, the No. 76 defensive lineman in America per On3, will officially visit for Boston College weekend Nov. 19. Mukam has yet to even visit Notre Dame, so that'll be a big trip for him to learn more about the university. • Notre Dame lost a commitment in Sep‑ tember from Phoenix Pinnacle offensive tackle Elijah Paige, who flipped his pledge to USC. The Irish seemed to have found Paige's replacement, zeroing in on Glen Ellyn (Ill.) Glenbard West's Chris Terek, whom On3 ranks as a three‑star recruit and the No. 50 interior offensive lineman in America. Terek committed to Wisconsin June 29 over offers from Iowa, Illinois, Michigan and others. However, the Badgers fired Paul Chryst, leaving the program with an interim head coach. Terek loves Wisconsin but with the uncer‑ tainty, it opened the door for Notre Dame to get involved in his recruitment and the Irish offered him a scholarship recently. "I'm still 100 percent committed to Wis‑ consin," Terek said. "Notre Dame is histori‑ cally one of the best offensive line schools, just like Wisconsin. It's a crazy opportunity, and I had never been to Notre Dame. "Right about the time when my recruiting started to blow up, Notre Dame was already full [on the offensive line]. Once that fifth spot opened back up, they came to me and offered. I'm still committed to Wisconsin; Notre Dame was the only other school that I was interested in going to visit." • Kankakee (Ill.) Bishop McNamara's Tony Phillips, the No. 97 running back in the 2024 cycle per On3, was expected to visit Notre Dame for the UNLV game, which is not ex‑ pected to be a major recruiting weekend. The Irish had a decent crop of visitors for the Stanford game and will for the Clem‑ son matchup in a couple weeks. Those are the marquee visit weekends of the fall for the Irish. Phillips doesn't hold an offer from the Irish yet but does have Tennessee, Arkan‑ sas and Syracuse on his scholarship sheet. Notre Dame has hosted him on campus a couple times already and is continuing to evaluate him. — Mike Singer Follow @MikeTSinger on Twitter for recruiting updates!
