Senior defensive end Isaiah Foskey was blocked. Lewis sprinted to the spot along the sideline Arline was headed, about 30 yards from where he began the play. Puailoa-Rojas underthrew the pass with Liufau bearing down on him. Lewis caught it on the run, an easier play for him to make than Arline. The interception gave Notre Dame the ball at Navy's 41-yard line. The Irish scored three plays later on junior quar- terback Drew Pyne's 11-yard run to take a 28-13 lead. They blocked a punt on Navy's ensuing drive and scored on the following play, a 37-yard touchdown from Pyne to sophomore receiver Jayden Thomas. In the moment, Lewis' pick, the blocked punt and the touchdowns scored off them felt like the dam break- ing for Navy. In the end, Notre Dame needed both to survive.
