This was the 6-3, 200-pound edge rusher's first visit to Penn State, and he came away impressed. "Coach Franklin stood out the most on this visit. I love his energy and how he is raw and uncut. I liked seeing that Coach Franklin has a genuine passion for his athletes as men," Rudolph said. "Another thing that stood out to me is Penn State's alumni and fan base and the incredible amount of people inter- ested in Penn State sports. The coach- ing staff left a good impression. They showed me Coach Franklin's character. Penn State is a sound program, and I loved the facility." The coaching staff also extended a few scholarship offers that day, notably to offensive lineman Caleb Brewer, who plays at Wyomissing High near Reading, Pa., and defensive tackle Herb Gray of Herbert Flowers High in Upper Marl- boro, Md. Listed at 6-4, 280 pounds, Brewer is a former teammate of offensive lineman J'ven Williams, a five-star 2023 recruit and January enrollee. Brewer holds a three-star rating from On3. He said the Penn State offer "means a lot for my recruitment." "Penn State is a great college," he continued. "I really like [Trautwein]. He seems like a great coach that I would like to get coached by. He talked to me throughout the day and was telling me that he thinks I would be a great player there." Gray is unranked by On3, but the 6-3, 255-pound defensive lineman holds early offers from Boston College, Ten- nessee and West Virginia. This was his first visit to Penn State. "I love the campus and how they made me feel at home," Gray said. "I also like the defensive scheme and how the coaches were talking football with me. It fits my playing style. As of now, it's one of my top schools." Two other four-star attendees were athlete Josiah Brown of Hicksville, N.Y., and defensive end Brian Robinson of Austintown, Ohio. Brown, who stands 5-11, 170 pounds, is On3's 50th-ranked overall prospect nationally and one of the Mid-Atlan- tic region's most coveted players in the 2024 cycle. He was visiting Penn State for only the second time. The Holy Trin- ity prospect has turned in a 10.7-second 100-meter time and would likely be a wide receiver for the Nittany Lions. Robinson has been a regular visitor, having traveled to Penn State five times since April 2022. Ranked No. 177 na- tionally, he is believed to have the Nit- tany Lions and Michigan near the top of his list. ■ P E N N S T A T E ' S C L A S S O F 2 0 2 3 * N A M E P O S H T W T R A T I N G * * H O M E S C H O O L Mega Barnwell TE 6-6 250 ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Fredericksburg, Va.
