The five most recent en- tries happened near or after the end of spring practice: junior offensive tackle Caleb Johnson April 19, junior wide receiver LORENZO STYLES April 21, junior linebacker Prince Kollie April 24, junior quarterback Tyler Buchner April 25 and junior running back Logan Diggs April 27. Both Buchner (Alabama) and Styles (Ohio State) have already found new homes. The other seven are senior long snapper Alex Peitsch (has not announced a destination yet), junior tight end Cane Berrong (Coastal Carolina), graduate student defensive end Osita Ekwonu (Charlotte), freshman cornerback Jayden Bel- lamy (Syracuse), senior quarterback Drew Pyne (Arizona State), graduate student Joe Wilkins Jr. (Miami [Ohio]) and senior defensive tackle Jacob Lacey (Oklahoma). The 12 transfers out were tied for the 50th most among the 69 Power Five schools, while the four transfers in (minus former Vir- ginia Tech wide receiver wide receiver Kaleb Smith, who re- tired in April after transferring to the Irish) was tied for the eighth fewest. As of May 1, the Irish were ranked 60th out of the 69 Power Five Schools in On3's 2023 College Foot- ball Team Transfer Portal Rankings.
