UNDER THE DOME 14 PRESEASON 2023 BLUE & GOLD ILLUSTRATED THE BIG PICTURE GOING GREEN On July 31, Notre Dame revealed the green jerseys it will wear versus Ohio State in September. And when the Fighting Irish said green, they really meant green. The Fighting Irish football team will don green jerseys, green pants and green cleats when they face the Buckeyes Sept. 23. The uniform was released with a fun, quirky social media video starring Notre Dame head coach Marcus Freeman, quarterback Sam Hartman and running back Audric Estimé that was an impressively accurate parody of an iconic scene from the movie "Jerry Maguire." Last year, Notre Dame wore a green jersey top with gold pants during its 24-17 victory over California. The jerseys had blue lettering, much to the chagrin of viewers everywhere. The numbers were tough to see inside Notre Dame Stadium. The white numbers on the new jerseys should pop a little more for what will be a sold-out environment in South Bend against a top-five foe.
