Parsons did not see action in the Cowboys' preseason opener against Jacksonville on Aug. 12. Joey Porter Jr. (2019-22), CB, Pittsburgh Steelers: The second-round draft pick missed the Steelers' preseason opener against Tampa Bay with an ankle injury but was back at practice two days later and has reportedly had a strong camp. "He's a quick learner," coach Mike Tomlin told Jeff Hathorn of 93.7 The Fan. Allen Robinson II (2011-2013), WR, Pittsburgh Steelers: Robinson has a new team and is looking to rebound from an injury-plagued season with the Los Angeles Rams in which he totaled just 33 catches for 339 yards and 3 touchdowns. He started the Steel- ers' exhibition opener against Tampa Bay but played sparingly and was not targeted. Miles Sanders (2016-18), RB, Carolina Panthers: Sanders signed a four-year, $25 million contract with the Panthers in March after ranking fifth in the league with 1,269 rushing yards and 11 touch- downs for Philadelphia last season. He missed the Panthers' exhibition opener against the Jets due to a groin injury. Nick Scott (2014-18), S, Cincinnati Bengals: Scott is vying for a starting spot in the Bengals' secondary after finishing with 86 tackles, 2 interceptions and 2 forced fumbles while with the Los Angeles Rams last year. Juice Scruggs (2018-22), C, Houston Texans: A second-round draft pick in April, Scruggs started the Texans' exhibition opener against New England on Aug. 10. Brandon Smith (2019-21), LB, Carolina Panthers: Smith is expected to play a bigger role on both de- fense and special teams after totaling only 53 snaps as a rookie. He had 3 tackles in Carolina's exhibition opener against the Jets. Donovan Smith (2011-14), OT, Kansas City Chiefs: After eight seasons in Tampa Bay, Smith was released in May and signed with the defending Super Bowl champion Chiefs. He's in line to start at left tackle and is hoping for a bounce-back season after being flagged for 12 penalties last year, the second-highest total of his career. Chris Stoll (2017-22), LS, Seattle Seahawks: Signed as an undrafted free agent, Stoll was listed as the Seahawks' starting long snapper as of Aug. 11. Jordan Stout (2022), P, Baltimore Ravens: Stout returns after averaging 45.9 yards per punt as a rookie. Twenty-six of his 57 punts landed inside the opponent's 20-yard-line. He averaged 50 yards on 5 punts against Philadelphia in the Ravens' preseason opener Aug. 12. Brenton Strange (2019-22), TE, Jacksonville Jag- uars: A second-round draft pick in April, Strange had 2 catches for 8 yards in the Jaguars' exhibition opener against Dallas. Jonathan Sutherland (2017-22), S, Seattle Sea- hawks: An undrafted free agent, Sutherland was get- ting first-team reps in Seattle's nickel package early in preseason camp and appears to have a chance of making the roster. He had 3 tackles and a quarterback hit in the Seahawks' exhibition opener against Min- nesota on Aug. 10. Mitchell Tinsley (2022), WR, Washington Com- manders: Tinsley went undrafted and signed with the Commanders as a free agent. Nevertheless, he was one of the early standouts in training camp and is seen as a contender to make the roster. He had 1 catch for 26 yards in Washington's preseason opener at Cleveland. Shaka Toney (2016-20), DE, Washington Com- manders: Toney was suspended indefinitely in April for violating the league's gambling policy. Rasheed Walker (2018-21), OT, Green Bay Packers: Walker was active for only one game during his rookie season and is battling for a roster spot this summer. Parker Washington (2020-22), WR, Jacksonville Jaguars: A sixth-round draft pick in April, Washington had 1 catch for 16 yards in the Jaguars' exhibition opener against Dallas. ■ Matt Herb contributed to this report.
