4 THE WOLVERINE ❱ OCTOBER 2023 THE HARBAUGH EFFECT I haven't seen this posted yet, but I don't think it can be understated how much it will mean to the team, and the fans, having their General back on the field! Talk about a calming, and simultaneously uplifting, boost to the morale and focus of the squad. Go Blue!! Dtybur Yup. I think the team plays cleaner, conservative with more focus. 31-7 this week [against Rutgers]. They'll play great vs. PSU and OSU. UMStan15 Contract! Please!! MoreDuh MICHIGAN, BIG TEN THOUGHTS AFTER WEEK 3 — WHO IS THE CONFERENCE FAVORITE? Michigan is still the best team top to bottom, but something is off kilter (offensively, I think the defense has been fine) just a touch with this year's version. I'm thinking it's boredom and Harbaugh missing, at least I hope it is. Blue20 Let's see how we look against Rutgers after a less-than-perfect week to learn from and we have our HC back. If we struggle again, I'll start to worry if we can put it together in a meaningful way to make a run at the championship. But ... this de- fense is better than most and will keep us in every game even if our offense struggles. If the offense can put it together ... watch out. krs919 I still wonder if Penn State can defend our run game without getting torched by J.J. I just think we match up very well with their defense. Ohio is a tougher call. I like our chances, but the development of their QB will go a long way in determining just how confident I will be at kickoff. I feel like it's: 1) Michigan, 2) Ohio, 3) Penn State. Martyk Penn State interior OL got dominated [at Illinois Sept. 16]. And [OT Olumuyiwa] Fashanu does not look like a top-10 draft pick at all. Some of the smart PSU people I see on Twitter were all saying basically "Michigan's front seven is going to feast on us if something doesn't change." I've been on this train for a while. Their OL is very weak and [quarterback Drew] Allar is nowhere near as mobile as [Sean] Clifford was. rcgoblue I agree with you. On paper, we are the best team. The problem is that it just hasn't fully translated onto the field yet this year. If we can get everyone working together we will be hard to stop. If we don't make the Big Ten championship again this year … I think it will be because we never played up to our full potential. GoBlueToledo3 It's a good year to have Minnesota and Nebraska on the road (along with MSU). The schedule in general isn't very challenging, and barring a slip up, this will be a two-game season. But it is so tough to tell what this team will be like come November. andrewhfine Personally, I'm starting to wonder if the team got caught up in reading their own headlines this offseason and have taken a bit to come back down to earth. Hopefully the BG game was that ground- ing wake-up call that was needed.
