Class Of 2024 Scholarship Offer Master List RECRUITING NOTES • Austin Alexander is a name starting to pick up steam in Notre Dame football recruiting circles. He is On3's No. 2 recruit in Kentucky, and No. 18 edge and No. 195 over- all player in the country. The 6-foot-3, 240-pounder from Union (Ky.) Randall K. Cooper High received a scholarship offer from the Fighting Irish Aug. 30. That hap- pened three days before his fifth unofficial college recruiting visit to Notre Dame, which took place for the Tennessee State game Sept. 2. The Irish have scouted Alexander as a vyper candidate — the weak- side defensive end edge rusher po- sition that Jordan Botelho plays — and are still targeting him despite already having three defensive line commits in the 2025 cycle. When Alexander visited Sept. 2, only Miami Palmetto three-star prospect Da- vion Dixon was committed to Notre Dame. Three-star 2025 edge CJ May of High- land Home (Ala.) High and three-star defensive lineman Joseph Reiff of Elmhurst (Ill.) York Community committed to Notre Dame Sept. 23 and 24, respectively. May is the highest-ranked of the group. The 6-4, 225-pounder is the No. 13 prospect in Alabama, and the No. 21 edge and No. 242 overall player nationally. Dixon (6-3, 305 pounds) and Reiff (6-5, 230 pounds) are the Nos. 36 and 39 defensive linemen in 2025, respectively. Dixon is the No. 44 recruit in Florida, while Reiff is the No. 10 prospect in Illinois. Alexander said his added weight and increased speed helped him reel in his Notre Dame offer. He is up about 30 pounds since last season and ran a 4.71-second 40-yard dash at an Ohio State football camp last summer. He planned a return visit to South Bend for the Southern California game Oct. 14. • Two days after Notre Dame hosted USC, the Irish planned to welcome a linebacker from one of the country's top high school football programs back to campus for a three-day visit. Blue & Gold Illustrated has learned Baltimore St. Frances Academy junior linebacker CJ Smith will return to South Bend from Oct. 16-18. The 6-foot-1, 210-pounder is three-star prospect in the 2025 class, the No. 9 prospect in Maryland and the No. 33 linebacker in the country. Smith previously visited Notre Dame April 1. He has also been to Louis- ville, Miami and Penn State. • It is never too early to start recruiting quarterbacks. On Oct. 11, Notre Dame offered a scholarship to 2026 class signal-caller Will Griffin from Tampa (Fla.) Jesuit. The 6-2½, 225-pounder is the teammate of Irish 2025 running back com- mit Justin Thurman, a three-star prospect. The 6-foot, 180-pound Thurman is On3's No. 46 prospect in Florida and No. 27 running back in the nation. On3 has not yet rated Griffin. However, he has offers from Michigan, Ohio State, Florida, Miami, Florida State, Auburn and others. Through six games in his sophomore season, he has completed 107 of 165 passes (64.8 percent) for 1,433 yards with 14 touchdowns and 6 interceptions. — Kyle Kelly Follow @ByKyleKelly on X (formerly Twitter) for daily recruiting updates!
