FORMER NITTANY LIONS IN THE NFL As of Dec. 4 Adrian Amos (Played at Penn State from 2011- 14), S, New York Jets: Amos was released by the Jets in early December, just 11 games into his first season with the team. The eighth-year pro had signed a one-year, $1.75 million contract in June and had played on 248 defensive snaps. But with backups Ashtyn Davis and Jarrick Bernard- Converse seeing increased playing time over the course of the season, Amos became expendable. He had 23 tackles and 1 pass defended before the mutual decision to part ways. Troy Apke (2014-17), S, Washington Command- ers: Apke was placed on injured reserve in August with a shoulder problem. He has not seen action this season. Saquon Barkley (2015-17), RB, New York Giants: Even though he missed three games with an ankle injury, Barkley had rushed for 697 yards and a touchdown while also catching 28 passes for 168 yards and 4 scores through Week 13. He was 10th in the league in rushing yardage. Ryan Bates (2015-19), G/C, Buffalo Bills: Bates continues to back up Mitch Morse at center for the Bills, who were fourth in the league in total offense with an average of 383.3 yards per game through 13 weeks. Nick Bowers (2015-19), TE, Miami Dolphins: Bowers was signed to the Dolphins' practice squad in August and has not seen action this year. Jaquan Brisker (2019-21), S, Chicago Bears: De- spite missing two games while in the concussion protocol, Brisker was third on the Bears with 63 tackles through Week 13. He had his first intercep- tion of the season in Chicago's 12-10 victory over Minnesota in Week 12. Cam Brown (2016-19), LB, New York Giants: A special teams contributor and third-team Will linebacker, Brown played in 11 of New York's first 12 games and totaled 6 tackles. Ji'Ayir Brown (2020-22), S, San Francisco 49ers: With Talanoa Hufanga out for the year following an ACL injury, Brown has taken over the 49ers' starting free safety position. He had his first career interception when he grabbed a deflected Baker Mayfield pass in the 49ers' 27-14 victory over Tampa Bay in Week 11. Jason Cabinda (2014-17), FB, Detroit Lions: Slowed by a knee injury, Cabinda was placed on injured reserve Oct. 7. He has seen action in only three games this season. Tariq Castro-Fields (2017-21), CB, Washington Commanders: A third-team cornerback for the Commanders, Castro-Fields had played in four games with 1 tackle through Week 13. Dan Chisena (2015-19), WR, Arizona Cardinals: Picked up by Arizona in November, Chisena has now been with three teams this year, having pre- viously spent time on the Steelers' and Vikings' practice squads. He was on the Cardinals' active roster for their Week 13 visit to Pittsburgh. Sean Clifford (2017-22), QB, Green Bay Packers: Clifford has seen action in only one game, a 38-20 win over Chicago on opening day. He has yet to attempt his first NFL pass. Jahan Dotson (2019-2021), WR, Washington Commanders: Dotson had made 44 catches for 458 yards and 4 touchdowns through Week 13. Arnold Ebiketie (2021), DE, Atlanta Falcons: Ebiketie was leading the Falcons with 5.5 sacks through 12 games. In a 13-8 win over the Jets in Week 13, he sacked quarterback Trevor Siemian on New York's final possession. Will Fries (2016-20), OL, Indianapolis Colts: Fries continues to man the starting right guard spot for a Colts offense that was averaging 342.5 yards per game to rank 14th in the league. Mike Gesicki (2014-17), TE, New England Patri- ots: Backing up Hunter Henry at tight end, Gesicki had 21 catches for 182 yards and a touchdown through 11 games. Blake Gillikin (2016-19), P, Arizona Cardinals: In eight games after being signed by the Cardinals in October, Gillikin averaged 50 yards on 66 punts. Kevin Givens (2016-18), DT, San Francisco 49ers: Givens had 10 tackles including 1.5 sacks for the 49ers heading into a Week 14 matchup with Se- attle. Chris Godwin (2014-16), WR, Tampa Bay Bucca- neers: Godwin has been bothered by a neck injury he received in practice and did not have a catch in Tampa Bay's 21-18 win over Carolina in Week 13. Nevertheless, he was second on the team with 53 receptions for 606 yards and a touchdown through 12 games.
