They're going to think they'll play as a true freshman. Some will, some won't. Some are going to expect to play as redshirt freshmen or true sophomores, and maybe they don't get the amount of playing time they thought they were go- ing to get. Or maybe they miss a couple field goals and then social media blows up on them. There's going to be adver- sity. "But developing a relationship based on trust and love and support through the good times and bad times allows you to overcome some of those things. Through chemistry, love, support, hon- esty and transparency, I think we've been able to work through a lot of issues that can be challenging at times." The most challenging issue of all may be the one that PSU now faces: the need to compete in a realm where money doesn't just talk, but threatens to drown out such noble sentiments.
